The Block Where I Grew Up
Archival digital prints, paper, graphite, metal binder rings
Installation breaks down to boxed set
44 pages, 8 3/4 x 5 3/4 inches each
Installed: 110 x 48 inches
2004-2005
For each of 22 houses there are two pages; one with a color photograph
of the front, and one with a black & white photograph of the
back. The pages also document the impressions that remain after
childhood memories are filtered through distance and adulthood.
The color and B&W pages for one house are installed back-to-back
and the set is hung in the same configuration as the block.
